Abstract
The most specific primers for indentification of Listeria monocytogenes by the polymerase chain reaction method (PCR) were obtained. In many cases, non-specific bands were observed on the agarose gel after electrophoresis of the PCR products. The PCR product using our original primers C and D was a single 161bp fragment, only in the case of L. monocytogenes. Other Listeria spp. and 14 bacteria were amplified no fragments.
